Therapy & Counselling for women

Hello, my name is Kate Merrick, I’m a psychotherapist offering individual therapy to women in West London. I work holistically with a strong grounding in body awareness, visualisation and experimentation, supporting clients to discover the wisdom and authority they inherently embody.

As a therapist, I draw on the philosophy that as human beings we have an innate spiritual wisdom - an inherent capacity to solve our own problems and cope with difficult situations. I support clients to slow down, to deepen their self-awareness and to be with their present experience fully, directly and intimately.

In this work, it is my intention to help you see yourself more clearly, which creates the space for outmoded thoughts and historical patterns of behaviour to naturally emerge. At the same time, we will focus on soothing the nervous system, so that an inner sense of safety and equilibrium can unfold, which in turn, supports us in building the resilience needed to contain strong emotions whilst also deepening self compassion and empathy.

My approach supports a gentle integration of mind, body and spirit, strengthening our existing resources and developing new ones, which can lead to a greater sense of safety, satisfaction, autonomy and freedom.

Though I work with all aspects of female identity and women’s health, I have a particular interest in working with women who; feel stuck, unsatisfied, unrecovered from old wounds, lost, anxious, suffer low self esteem, have lost their authentic voice, sense of self, and lack an internal sense of authority; those who feel disembodied and disempowered, or those who feel they have yet to transition from girlhood into womanhood.
